About this spot

The northern end of the Indian River Lagoon, making up more than two-thirds of Canaveral National Seashore. The Park Service says the lagoon has national acclaim for fly fishing for red drum and is one of only two known places where red drum, spotted seatrout and black drum all spawn. Flats boats now run into its shallow seagrass, which the Park Service warns may disturb spawning and nursery areas.
